Should Obama have won the Nobel Prize?

October 26th, 2009 | 2 Comments | Posted in Insights

In a surprise move on 9th October 2009, the Nobel committee attributed the Nobel Peace Prize to Obama less than nine months after he had taken office. This prize has been awarded to the leader of a country which is waging wars in two different countries. Ironically, Mahatma Gandhi who is the Father of our Nation was nominated five times between 1937 and 1948 but never received the prize! So do you agree with the committee when they say that this award is “for his (Obama’s) extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between people.”?

Let us know what your thoughts are…..

i think it was too early to give him noble prize although he had done remarkable job for America but he should not have given the noble prize becouse if you campare contribution of mahatma gandhi he got india free from english people and he also nominated for noble prize but it has not been given to him.i think it was early decision to give him noble prize…………..

Absolutely not a potential candidate to get the renowned NOBLE PEACE PRICE… Its a politically driven move to get certain favourable things from Obama by using his powers. He has been pleased to avail some favours from him…

Its a SHAME on the NOBLE PRIZE COMMITEE!
