Wow Shah Rukh Khan is now also known on the Moon
On the occasion of Mr Khan`s 44th birthday on November 2, 2009, , The International Lunar Geographic Society which is dedicated to the study of the moon named the crater on the moon as SR KHAN. This was able to happen due to Shah Rukh’s huge
fan base where the society received a flood of petitions from India and around the world requesting that the crater be named after their superstar.The crater is located on the moon’s Sea of Tranquility and is the largest of the four Arago craters, positioned directly South of the main crater.
This decision has now triggered a mixed response within the science community and the president of the National Space Society, Suresh Naik, described it as “shocking”. Not sure what you think about it? Your views on this would be great to know.
