‘Slumdog…’ Kid Slapped by father
Azharuddin, 10, wanted to rest,after his return from Los Angeles. His father Ismail Mohammed had already committed time to a foreign journalist. So when Azharuddin refused the father got upset and slapped him. Its not any ones fault its just the circumstance but this news is spreading like fire as though its the end of the world.
The incident invited sharp reaction from Women and Child Development Minister Renuka Chowdhury Saturday. Wonder if attention like this is paid to all kids who get abused.
Azharuddin attempted to protect his father - who is suffering from tuberculosis since 20 years, and even wife Shamim rushed to defend him.
If media want to speak to the kids they need to book time and give some peace to the kids after all they are children and need rest. Poor slum-dwellers are not used to the sudden international media glare and hope Media will understand this and give the families some space to get use to this.

Azharuddin’s father should be disciplined and shown some control management, and so also the media……..people are actually turning “SLUMDOGS”!
